1. Information We Collect

When you use Chrella, we collect:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, street address, ZIP code, role (Nanny or Family)
• Profile information: bio, work history, education, certifications, profile photos, and video introductions
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, search queries, and interaction history on the platform
• Communications: messages sent between users on the platform
• Background check data: results from third-party background check providers (Checkr) initiated by or for you
• Payment information: billing details processed by Stripe (we do not store full card numbers)
• Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Chrella platform
• Match Families and Nannies based on location, preferences, and availability
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, connection requests, messages)
• Send platform updates, newsletters, and feature announcements (you may opt out at any time)
• Enforce our Terms of Use and protect the safety of our users
• Comply with legal obligations
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the platform

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Information Shared With Other Users

When you create a profile, certain information is visible to other authenticated users of the platform according to your privacy settings. You control what appears on your public profile. Private information such as your full street address is never displayed to other users.

Messages sent through Chrella are visible to the sender and recipient. Community posts are visible to other users in your role group according to your visibility settings.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with trusted third parties who help us operate the platform:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Stripe — payment processing
• Checkr — background check services
• Loops.so — transactional email delivery
• Mux — video hosting and streaming
• Netlify — platform hosting
• Twilio — SMS notifications (optional)

Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We do not authorize them to use your data for their own purposes beyond what is necessary to provide services to us.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level security on our database, and access controls on all user data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct: update or correct inaccurate information via your profile settings
• Delete: request deletion of your account and associated data via Settings → Account
• Opt out: unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the link in any email
• Portability: request an export of your data in a machine-readable format

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it (for example, financial records required for tax purposes).

8. Children's Privacy

Chrella is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-platform notification. Continued use of Chrella after the effective date of a new policy constitutes your acceptance.
